Ron Babiera joined the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo in 2022. As Rental Housing Programs Manager, he is responsible for the administration and compliance of all rental assistance programs, including Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, Project-Based Vouchers, Moving-To-Work, Family Unification, Mainstream, Emergency Housing Vouchers, HUD- VASH, and Permanent Supportive Housing programs. He brings more than 25 years of experience in rental assistance and affordable housing programs and community development to his position, including more than 9 years of Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program administration and policy development at the Santa Clara County Housing Authority.
Ron earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from UC Santa Cruz, and a master’s degree in Urban Planning from UCLA.
