Mark Skubik is the HCD Financial Services Manager. Mark is originally from Northern Virginia. Mark attended the University of Michigan as an undergraduate and moved to California after graduation. Once in California, he worked at Stanford Medical Center in both financial services and IT for several years.
Mark earned his graduate degree in American History from San Jose State, with a focus on the development of the U.S. Public Health system. His graduate thesis is cited by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in their institutional histories.
Mark began working for San Mateo County’s Human Services Agency in 2007, and in that capacity supported the county’s Center on Homelessness since 2015. Mark and his family live in Palo Alto. He is an avid community gardener and enjoys cooking, birdwatching, and bluegrass music.
